Driven by God’s love and commandment to love thy neighbor as thyself, the Freedom Foundation’s mission is to build communities by supporting other non-profit organizations, schools, local government, and youth programs in the community, and by working with young people to identify their potential and support them in reaching this potential.
The Freedom Foundation’s primary objectives in Selma are to:
• Contribute to the revitalization of the downtown area by renovating the largest building on Broad Street, known as the Tepper’s Building.
• Create a community gathering place in the heart of the city at the renovated Tepper's Building.
• Help restore hope, vision, and unity to the community through the community radio show Real Talk. This programs airs seven times per week and provides a platform to share positive community information, and productively and respectfully discusses the concerns facing the citizens of Selma.
• Design youth programs that foster leadership development and artistic expression.
• Support other non-profit organizations that are working to serve, love and advance the community.
