'One Night Only' Opens (and Closes) Saturday, August 2 at 7:00 PM

Random Acts of Theatre Company, a new theatre company in Selma, is please to announce the opening of “One Night Only” which will run for one night – Saturday, August 2, 2008 at the Pickard Auditorium at the School of Discovery. “One Night Only” is a Broadway musical revue and includes songs from some of the hottest Broadway shows like “Hairspray,” “Dreamgirls,” “Seussical: The Musical” and “The Color Purple.”
“For the summer, we wanted to do a more relaxed show. Something that allowed the actors to sing their favorite show tunes. It has been fun to see what the cast selected to do and we have a great variety of musical numbers in the show,” said Amanda Farnsworth, Random Acts of Theatre founder and “One Night Only” Director.
“The idea behind 'One Night Only' is that it will be our annual summer production. Community members can participate each year and share their favorite Broadway show tune. It is a great way for people to showcase their talent without having to go through the rigorous rehearsal schedule we have for our other big productions,” said Ms. Farnsworth. “It is a great way to end the summer and launch into rehearsal for our Fall production.”
Auditions for the Broadway hit “Seussical the Musical” will be Saturday, August 23rd. Call 334-505-0086 to schedule an audition time. Performances will be November 20-23, 2008.
